13. A Note on Corporate Irony
Here's the uncomfortable truth:
We fight surveillance capitalism, yet we need Terms of Service.
We oppose exploitation, yet we need legal protections.
We advocate for freedom, yet we need rules.
These legal documents are corporate tools we wish didn't exist. But in the current legal and economic system, they're necessary to protect both you and us.
We've tried to write these Terms:
- In plain English, not legalese
- Fairly, not one-sidedly
- Transparently, not buried in fine print
- Aligned with our values, not just our interests
If you see contradictions between our mission and these Terms: Please tell us. We'll take your feedback seriously. We'll explain or change.
We're building the world we want to see, one honest paragraph at a time. 🏮
